Leitchville

The town and district of Leitchville were named following the death of Duncan Leitch, manager of Gunbower Station in 1888. The area became a gazetted township in 1929.

The Murray River is only a short drive from Leitchville and is a popular spot for fishing and camping. Kow Swamp south of Leitchville is a beautiful waterway filled from the Murray irrigation system and is popular for fishing, sightseeing and picnicking.

A spacious caravan stop-over with modern toilets makes Leitchville the perfect place for travellers – just off the highway!
Agricultural enterprises include pork production, dairy farming and production of hay and stockfeed products.
